Visa for Great Britain/UK

Dear patients, dear patients,

To prepare your visa for Great Britain/UK you need a medical examination Tuberculosis screening.

The following things are required for this:

• More valid Passport
• 1 passport photo
• Category of visa and possible future address in Great Britain
• If there is a history of lung disease/tuberculosis, medical records (Specialist report/hospital report) bring along.

Scope of the investigation 

• Investigation: History and physical examination (temperature, listening to the lungs)
• X-ray: The x-ray examination includes a survey of the lungs to rule out tuberculosis
• Work: includes a sputum test to rule out tuberculosis

Process in our practice Praevenio:  

1. Registration (6th floor)
   

• Register at our reception with your personal data and create the form

• Please inform us if you would prefer a doctor to examine you, if you would like a neutral person to do the physical examination (Chaperones),if you need someone to translate (except German, English)

2. X-ray examination (radiology 1st floor)

• Depending on time management, the X-ray examination is carried out before or after the examination by the doctor
• An overview image of the thorax is taken showing the lungs, heart and chest. The recording is carried out in accordance with the radiation protection regulations.
• The examination is paid for directly at the radiology reception. Price €60

3. Physical examination by the doctor (6th floor)

• First, the medical history/anamnesis is asked.
• The physical examination includes measuring body temperature and a brief examination of the cervical lymph nodes and lungs.

4. Laboratory examination of sputum (6th floor)

• If sputum examinations are necessary and the x-ray cannot rule out tuberculosis, they are only carried out in our practice. Mucus from coughing up is examined for tuberculosis bacteria.

• To do this, you must come to the practice on an empty stomach in the morning on 3 different days.
• The results may only be read after the samples have been incubated for 8 weeks.
• The laboratory examination will invoiced by the laboratory You will receive the invoice by post within the next 4 weeks.

5. Clarifying final questions and invoicing (6th floor)

• Please log in before leaving at our practice again at reception to clarify any outstanding points.
• The on account includes all examinations required to issue the visa. The costs for the x-ray examination (€60) will be paid in the radiology department.
• The invoice can be in cash or by EC card get paid.
• Please understand that for legal reasons we are obliged to cover the costs of the visa examination Value added tax collected and paid to the tax office.
