All examinations (including laboratory and x-rays) may only be carried out by us. Laboratory values ​​and X-rays from previous practices or from other practices are not accepted by the consulate.

VISAS FOR AUSTRALIA, CANADA AND NEW ZEALAND

To obtain your visa for Australia, Canada or New Zealand you need a medical examination.

Requirements

  • Valid passport or certified copy of travel document
  • Referral letter from EMedical or HAP-ID (Australia), for New Zealand the NZER is generated by us
  • Vaccination certificate, if necessary x-ray certificate, for children up to ten years of age please bring a U-precautionary booklet with you
  • If you have a chronic or significant illness, bring medical documents (specialist report/hospital report). Depending on their meaning, these must also be translated in a certified manner.

Procedure in our practice Praevenio

1. Registration (6th floor)

  • Register at our reception with your personal details and take a photo (face uncovered, headscarf permitted)
  • Please register at reception before giving your urine as you will be accompanied when giving your urine
  • Please inform us in advance if you need any information about the blood sample or the tests such as: B. need an HIV test. We are obliged to inform you about the type of laboratory tests.

Please inform us,

  • if you prefer to have a doctor examine you
  • if you want a neutral person during the physical examination (chaperones)
  • if you need someone to translate (except German, English).

2. Urinalysis (6th floor)

  • Please register at reception before giving your urine as you will be accompanied when giving your urine. Please let us know if you are currently having your period.
  • The urine is examined for blood, sugar and protein. You will find out the result at the end of the examinations.

3. Blood test (6th floor)

  • The blood test does not have to be done on an empty stomach. You can have breakfast!
  • The blood is tested for different values ​​depending on the type of visa. Only the tests prescribed by the embassy will be carried out. We are not allowed to arrange any further values ​​at your request.
  • We will only call you if there are any suspicious values ​​and then advise you on how to proceed. A check-up is usually required.
  • If you wish, we can provide you with the results of the laboratory test.
  • The results of the laboratory values ​​are available to us within 2-3 days.

4. X-ray examination (Radiology 1st floor)

  • Depending on time management, the X-ray examination is carried out before or after the examination by the doctor.
  • An overview image of the thorax is taken showing the lungs, heart and chest. The recording is carried out in accordance with the radiation protection regulations.
  • The examination is paid for directly at the radiology reception. Price €60

5. Physical examination (6th floor) with the doctors Dr. Knur, Dr. Zurich or Dr. Prack

  • Please contact us before the examination if you have any concerns or questions
  • First, you will be asked about your medical history/anamnesis, which you may have already provided in Emedical or upon admission. Now open questions can be clarified.
  • The physical examination includes a preliminary eye test (please with glasses or contact lenses), a preliminary hearing test and a complete physical examination. This requires you to undress down to your underwear. An examination of the female breast is also prescribed for women over 40 years old.
  • Checking vaccination status. If vaccinations are missing, we offer them in our practice (depending on vaccination and age, also through statutory health insurance). The vaccinations are a recommendation and can also be given by the doctor of your choice.

6. Clarification of final questions and invoicing (6th floor)

  • Please log in before leaving at our practice again at reception to clarify any outstanding points, such as vaccinations or checking an elevated blood pressure value.
  • The on account includes all examinations required to issue the visa. The costs for the x-ray examination will be paid in the department there.
  • The laboratory examination will invoiced by the laboratory You will receive the invoice by post within the next four weeks. The exception is individual values ​​for the New Zealand visa (blood count, creatinine and HbA1c).
  • The invoice can be in cash or by EC card to be paid.
  • Please understand that for legal reasons we are obliged to cover the costs of the visa examination Value added tax collected and paid to the tax office.
  • The Results The visa examination is entered into the emedical system within two to six days, depending on the extent of the laboratory examinations, and “submitted” to the department.
  • You can view the history yourself using your personal number (HAP-ID or NZER). If you have any questions or problems, please contact our reception by telephone, fax or email.
